Blender Day 21 : Blender21 duplication and stair example

Alright, let's use duplication to create the stairs. First, I'm going to change the name of this object. Let's call it "St". You can change the name here and here. Now, to duplicate it, simply press Shift + D. Once you've duplicated it, you can rotate it. Press 'R' to rotate. By default, it rotates on the wrong axis, so press 'Z' to rotate along the Z-axis. You can play around with the rotation by entering a specific degree or just rotate it freely. For example, if I enter 30° and realize it's the wrong direction, I can simply press '-' to rotate it in the opposite direction. Press Enter to apply the rotation. Now, we have a duplicate, but it's rotated. Let's lift it up. You can use the number pad keys 1, 3, or 7 to get a different view. Currently, I'll use number pad 3. Grab it along the Z-axis and move it up a little bit. Click or press Enter to confirm. Now we have our stairs. Oh, wait, I made a mistake. We should move the position first and then rotate. Let me undo that by pressing Ctrl + Z. Okay, now let's duplicate it. Press number pad 7 to get a top-down view. Shift + D to duplicate it. Move it to a different position, maybe here. Then, you can rotate it. Click to select it, press 'R' to rotate. Again, it's rotating in the wrong direction, so press 'Z' to rotate along the Z-axis. Let's rotate it by 30°, but with a minus sign to rotate in the opposite direction. Okay, maybe that's too much, so let's try 15° instead. Minus 15° should be good. Press Enter to apply the rotation. Now we have another set of stairs. You can continue adding more stairs by duplicating using the same method. Shift + D to duplicate, place it wherever you want. Let's fix its position using the Y-axis. Click to select it, grab it along the X-axis, and then rotate it. Press 'R' to rotate, 'Z' for the Z-axis, and rotate it by 15° in the opposite direction. Now, let's move it up along the Z-axis. Maybe around here. And adjust its position slightly. Maybe move it to the left a bit. Alright, I think that looks good. Just a few stairs. The degree of rotation is still set at 15°. You can experiment and adjust it to what you think looks best. So, now we have three stairs.
