Blender Day 53 : Blender53 How to select your GPU and CPU for your render in blender
Alright, folks, here's a quick tip for you. After setting up our camera and selecting the render engine, let's talk about the different options available. We already know how to switch between Eevee and Cycles, but there's also the Workbench option, which doesn't work as well for rendering.
Previously, we used Eevee, which provides a quick and decent simulation of lighting. However, if you want more precise rendering, you can use Cycles. Cycles uses a different algorithm for lighting, and it can give you excellent results. Additionally, if you have a GPU attached to or embedded in your computer, you can choose to use GPU rendering. This will significantly improve computation speed, especially when dealing with complex images. GPUs have more processing power than CPUs in this regard.
To change the rendering device, you can go to the Preferences menu. Look for the System tab, and then navigate to the Cycles Render Devices section. Here, you can select your GPU if it's available, or you can choose to use the CPU. Unfortunately, since I'm currently recording, I can't switch between them, but if you're not recording, feel free to choose the option that suits your setup. This setting allows you to utilize the power of your GPU or CPU for faster rendering.
So, once you've made your selection, you can switch to GPU Compute, and your rendering process will be much quicker. Remember, this option is only available if your computer has a compatible GPU. Otherwise, you can stick with using the CPU.
That's it for this tip. In the next tutorial, we'll explore more rendering settings and techniques. Don't forget to subscribe to stay updated with the latest Blender tutorials. Thank you, and happy rendering!
