Blender Day 46 : Blender46 How to move camera using wasd like FPS games n blender

Alright, guys. In the last video, we learned that the camera is just another object in Blender. You can click on it, use the grab tool, and move it around using the X, Y, and Z axes. It's quite simple.

However, adjusting the camera using the traditional method or the camera view can be a bit annoying. It feels too mechanical and doesn't give you the feeling of being a cameraman freely moving around. So, here's a tip for you, especially if you're using Blender 3.x, which is constantly evolving.

My personal favorite is the first-person mode, similar to playing a game. You can change the camera view as if you're playing a shooting game. I find this to be a more natural and intuitive way to move the camera.

To activate this mode, simply press Shift and the Grave key. The Grave key is located just beside the number one key on your keyboard. Once you do that, you'll notice that you, as the cameraman, are now holding the camera. You can use the W, A, S, and D keys to move it around, just like in a shooting game.

Let me demonstrate by moving the camera to the backside of this model. I can even move it up and down and navigate around the scene. It's a really useful feature, especially when you want to immerse yourself in the virtual environment or closely examine the model you've created.

So, give this method a try. It's my personal favorite, especially when creating clips of your animations or simply exploring your creations. I think you guys need to know about this. It's a pretty handy technique.
